Instructions of Blessed John the Carpathian

Saint John the Carpathian lived in the 5^th century on the island of Carpathia, which is located between Rhodes and Crete. Nothing is known of the location where he performed his deeds of self-denial or anything about his life. From India, he wrote to monks some comforting words — consisting of 100 instructions — where he calls upon them to bear sorrows and temptations with fortitude.
