The present Church with the celebration on 2 February - "Meeting of our Lord
in the Temple" located in the city of Cluj-Napoca was consecrated in december
the 9th 1993 when father Chira Alexa was designated our priest. Since it is a
church made of wood and its capacity is not big enough, in the beginning of
1997 our priest started the construction of a new, larger churcher for the
850 parishioners. From time to time, the work was standing by because of the
lack of money, although God in His mercy helped our priest to pay all the debts
for the materials and works. There were critical times but by God's will our
priest succeeded to pay the debts he had.
The church is now in an advanced stage. The mortar has been applied.
What is left to be done is for the last layer to be applied at the outside,
the painting inside and to finish the roof wich can't be done yet because
the Crosses were not placed on top of it.
The work will go on if the father manages to pay the debts which are left.
Because the construction of the church was standing by for too long time
already and because of the threat of the weather, the church needed urgently
to be covered with the mortar coat, work wich hasn't been paid yet and
has to be paid this fall. The amount of money that needs to be paid this fall
is around 100000 romanian lei (RON) - around 30000 USD.
Since we are in this difficult situation, we had to resort to your help,
considering that some of you might be able to contribute to the construction
and completion of our church. Our parishioners couldn't cover these expenses
with all their valuable contribution and help.
We truly hope that through this appeal, we will be helped by you to get over
this difficult moment, and with God's will to bring to the end this work for
the glory of God.
